Shibori Dress One

One of the most gratifying experiences in creating something is doing so from scratch! I designed the pattern, created the colours & print and sewed the dress.

You’re invited to flip back a few posts to the Shibori dyeing weekend where my uncle/painter Nick & I sketched, tied, knotted and dyed various shibori style prints on white cotton blends.

I cut the bodice piece for this Tashenka dress using one of the indigo pieces. The bottom portion of the dress is a medium weight brown 2 way stretch knit. It sure is getting chilly quickly up here in Montréal, I’m hoping there are a few more warm & sunny days I can rock this number in sandals without tights! (fingers tightly crossed- very doubtful)
